At DCAVS, we learn from each other and have fun working together to create programs, conferences, our newsletter, and providing networking support. We share our knowledge and ideas, joys and frustrations, and are willing to listen, share, teach, and celebrate each other. The DCAVS Board of Directors is eager to have you join in the fun of this organization! Please read the information below about how to get involved or contact Glenn Mitroff, Board president, volcoord@wort-fm.org, for more information. You have a lot to gain by joining the group—and we would love to learn from you.
DCAVS Board of Directors
Serving as a member of the DCAVS Board is a great way to help sustain
your professional development organization while gaining valuable
leadership skills and experience! The DCAVS Board meets six times a year
(February, April, June, August, October and December), months
alternating with Lunch-and-Learn programs. Board meetings typically last
two hours and are scheduled daytime hours during the work week. The
Board consists of elected officers: President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer and immediate Past President; Chairs of Standing
Committees-Program, Membership and Newsletter; and two members-at-large
including the United Way Liaison. Only members in good standing with the
organization (dues paid) are eligible to serve in any elective or
appointed positions.

DCAVS Newsletter Committee
The newsletter committee produces The Network, a bimonthly newsletter, as the primary communication tool of DCAVS members. The Network supports the mission of DCAVS through member support, connections and recognition, as a contact between members and the board of directors, promoting recruitment and participation in DCAVS, and relating information pertinent to the field of volunteer administration, on the local, national and international levels. The committee has three positions: Editor, Lay-out Coordinator, and Production Coordinator. The Editor welcomes relevant submissions from all members. Sample copies are available upon request.
